Few days ago American Richard Austin won his first ever World Series of Poker bracelet. The bracelet came from the $5,000 pot limit omaha tournament after he knocked out two players, Sorel Mizzi and Cliff Josephy in the final hand.
Usually the winners of WSOP events get interviewed by multiple news medias, but for some reason Richard Austin decided that he wasn’t going to give interviews.
And as if this wasn’t enough, Austin also decided that he wasn’t going to participate in the bracelet ceremony.
The bracelet ceremony is something that is done after each WSOP even to honor the winner.
One can just guess why Richard decided to act like this. If his goal was to avoid getting media attention he seems to have failed. Acting like this surely brings more attention him then acting as other winners did would have. Maybe he is just shy?
