Short while ago we published list of the 25 reasons why poker sucks. Now it is time to bring the positivity back and publish a list of the 15 things that make poker rock. Obviously there is some reasons that poker is so incredible popular and still gaining popularity after being already pop for over 5 years.

1) The thrill of winning. No one can say that they wouldn’t enjoy winning money in poker. After all, as they say, moneys make the world go around.

2) The fame. Together with money in poker also comes the fame. If you look at some of the poker players that are now idolized by thousands of people you will realize that how much their life has changed after they became famous poker players and won millions. Great examples of this are for an example Chris Moneymaker and Tom Dwan.

3) It is fun. Yes, it is fun sometimes. Obviously it can also be extremely annoying, stupid and ridiculous. But when you are truly enjoying player poker there are very few things in the world that are more fun.

4) It is easy. Especially when played online. You sit in front of computer, login to an online poker site and start clicking away.

5) Poker is good mental exercise. Admittedly playing in poker in front of your computer and eating junk food certainly won’t improve your physical health. However when you are truly trying to become a better poker player and win money in poker it can be great mental exercise.

6) The poker skills can help in every day. Things such as solving problems and knowing how to bluff can be very useful in the every day life.

7) Seeing the world. When you travel to poker tournaments you will often get to see places that you wouldn’t have seen otherwise. This obviously requires you to actually leave your hotel and the casino for at least short moment.
8) Poker community. For outsides the poker community and world can look a bit weird, but spending time with likeminded people is obviously great and you will often meet people in the poker world that will help you become a better poker player.

9) The freedom. Especially if you are professional poker player you will have lot of freedom and control over your life compared to if you were working in a typical 9 to 5 job.

10) Parties. Poker companies certainly know how to throw parties. If you ever happen to win a ticket to a major live poker tournament such as WSOP Main Event through a big online poker site you will most likely get to experience first hand the absolutely sick parties that these poker sites love to arrange for their players.

11) Hope. For lot of people poker offers the best “rags to riches” chance they will ever get in their life. Chris Moneymaker is a great example of this.

12) Learning to deal with every day bad beats. When you play poker long enough you will learn to ignore the bad beats and cold runs. Usually the people who learn how to deal with bad beats in poker also become good with dealing bad beats in the every day life and don’t care about the little things that don’t go to way that they were hoping.

13) Aces. Even the most seasoned poker pros get the nice little fuzzy feeling when they are dealt pocket aces.

14) Poker on TV. It can be extremely stupid, but there is something really addicting about watching poker on TV.

15) Becoming a better poker player. It is a great feeling to notice that you have improved as a poker player.
