This is the first time we have heard about anything like this, and it is so amazing that we simply had to write about it. Just a few days ago PokerStars launched their French sister portal on PokerStars.fr. This portal was launched due to the change in French law and only French players are allowed to play on this new poker site. Naturally lot of them were very excited about this new site at first, but quite soon the mood changed when they realized that pokerstars had decided to increase the rake on the .fr compared to .com considerably.

For an example on the .fr site there is rake taken out of the every single pot regardless of if it goes to the flop or not, and what makes it even worse is that after the flop can go up to 10% of the pot.

In the past majority of the poker players have just sucked it up with the rake increases, but it appears that the French people are now showing the way for the future. In an attempt to catch the eye of the PokerStars’s management and in order to show them how unhappy they are with the current rake table they have organized a boycott. Basically on huge number of tables people are now sitting out and sharing their thought’s of the rake in the chat window. And it appears to be working too, according to the post on 2+2 forum poker manager on the PokerStars.fr has asked the players to share their thoughts in English show that he can show it to his non-French supervisor.
