There is dozens if not hundreds of terms that are used mostly in the online poker game chats. Especially for a beginner player it can occasionally be quite challenging to figure out what each term means. We have put together a short list of the most common terms that you will come across when playing online poker.
Common online poker chat terms:
GG = Good Game. Can either be used truthfully to express that the game was good or sarcastically to express annoyance.
NH = Nice Hand. Most commonly used when your opponent shows a good hand. Can also be used in general to express something good, for an example: “NH with the tournament”
Donk = Bad player.
Pro = Professional poker player.
WP = Well Played.
GTG = Got to go.
G2G = Got to go.
WD = Well done
F = F#CK
Fish = Bad player
BRB = Be right back
Pocket Rockets = Aces
TY, THX = Thank You
U = You

lh = last hand
1sec = request to wait “1 second”
idi = idiot.
nl = no limit
pl = pot limit
fu = f#ck you
gn = good night
