The $2,000 no limit holdem event has just ended. Coming into the final day only a few players out of the original almost 1700 players were still left in the tournament and competing for the glory and the green. Pat Atchison was sitting on the top with his chip stack, but everyone had a great chance at winning as no-one appeared to have severely crippled chip stack. One by one the players kept getting knocked out, including the original chip leader Pat Atchison on the 7th place.
The two players who were brave and lucky enough to make their way to the final two were American Jordan Smith and Swedish Ken Lennaard. Before this tournament Ken Lennaard had accomplished more in the live poker tournaments and had already won around $900,000 live tournament winnings compared to Jordan’s $270,000. However, this time it didn’t help mr Lennaard.
In the final hand on 40,000/80,000 + 10,000 ante level Lennaard made it 300,000 to go before the flop and Smith called. The flop came down 843 all diamonds smith chek raised all in Lennaard 350,000 bet and after some pondering Lennaard ended up calling the raises. The hands were: Jordan Smith 97 diamonds (made flush) Ken Lennaard J8 one diamond (top pair J flush draw). The poker gods smiled upon on Jordan Smith and when his hand held up he became almost $600,000 richer.
