Jeff Lisandro Wins Third 2009 WSOP Bracelet

Coming into the final day of the $2,500 2009 WSOP razz tournament only 13 players were left and Jeff Lisandro was leading the pack. Lisandro had the chance to make history by becoming the first player since 2002 to win 3 bracelets in a year. Something about how hard it is to score the hatrick tells that the last one to do it was certain Phil Ivey.

In the end it looked like Jeff Lisandro had the situation under his control. Lisandro kept playing good solid, but aggressive poker through the final day and final table. In the final table Jeff eliminated himself respectable 4 out of 7 of his opponents, and never had to give up his chiplead.

In the headsup Lisandro played against writer Michael Craig and managed to knock him out in less than 10 minutes. In fact it took Jeff only 20 minutes to go from the situation where there was 4 players left to the situation where had had won the bracelet and was $188,000 richer!

All of Jeff’s 2009 WSOP bracelets have come from so called stud games. It will be interesting to see if he can continue his amazing run in the WSOP tournaments still to come in this year’s world series of poker.
