Jeff Lisandro Wins Second 2009 WSOP Bracelet

As we wrote yesterday both Doyle Brunson and Scotty Nguyen had an excellent chance at winning a WSOP bracelet today. Both players had made it to the final 12 of the $10,000 7 card stud hi/lo even. If Doyle Brunson had won the event he would have also made history by becoming the poker player with most WSOP bracelet, alongside with Phil Hellmuth.

However, today the poker gods weren’t on either player’s side. Scotty Nguyen finished on the 10th place and Doyle Brunson got 7th. Both are obviously highly respectable scores, but we are not quite what they wanted when they came into the final day.

The fate of this WSOP bracelet was decided between Farzard Rouhani and Jeff Lisandro. And what a battle it was. After one of the longest headsups in the 2009 WSOP – during which the chipleader changed multiple times, in the end Jeff Lisandro finally managed to win the 2009 $10,000 7 card stud hi/lo tournament. This is already the second WSOP bracelet for Jeff Lisandro during the 2009 WSOP. For his second bracelet Jeffrey Lisandro got also $430,000. Jeff Lisandro was born in Australia but these days he represents Italy, this victory makes him the most succesful European players in this year’s Wolrd Series of Poker.
