It was announced yesterday that the world’s second largest online poker company Full Tilt Poker has signed a deal with one of the top world’s top F1 racing teams, Virgin Racing. Never before has an online gambling company (that we recall) made a deal of this size with a F1 team and some people are already licking their lips with the hopes that this deal will bring brand new breed of fishes from the F1 world to online poker world. Though, because of the laws the actual sponsor of the team will be Full Tilt .net, which in fact doesn’t offer real money games.
However, it wouldnt be a big surprise to see many of these people who get taste of poker at the play money site to cross-over to real money games over at FullTiltPoker.com. Because F1 is huge in Asia the most optimistic people are already hoping that this would be the catalyst for the long waited “asian poker boom”.
What is slightly surprising about this deal is the fact that Virgin itself also has a poker room over at VirginPoker.com, but maybe they just couldn’t afford their own advertising prices.
